7th Day of Advent Why are we here celebrating Advent and Christmas? This is included in Jesus’ answer to Pilate’s question to ‘who He is’. Jesus responded to Pilate’s question asking if He was ‘the King’ with a yes. Jesus told Pilate the reason He had come was to testify to the truth. # Advent is the time we prepare for Jesus’ coming – Christmas. # Christmas is when we celebrate the arrival of Jesus on earth, His arrival is an essential pre-requisite to enable His future ministry on earth. Pilates reply? Instead of genuinely listening or asking, he retorts ‘what is truth?’ Do you know? Bible Reading John 18:37-38a 37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” 38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate.
