7th Grade Burnet MS Bulldogs vs. Liberty Hill Panthers Burnet Green Game lost 8-20 The Liberty Hill Panthers were in Burnet on Thursday night for 7th grade football games. Kicking off the action was the 7th grade Green team. The Panthers set the early pace with their ground game and took a 20-0 halftime lead on touchdown runs of 2, 41, and 17 yds. The Bulldogs got the offense on track in the second half as Wade Nedbalek got loose on the first possession and ran 72 yards for the score. Following the two point conversion on a run by Corbin Sanders the Dogs trailed 20-8 and this would prove to be the final score. Offensively the Dogs were led by Nedbalek, Reginaldo Hernandez, and Brandon Anderson. Defensive standouts included Trenton Hughes and Caden Hart recording tackles in the Panther backfield and good pass defense from Zach Wisian. Burnet White Game Lost 14-44 The 7th grade White team didnt find the going any easier in game number two. Liberty Hill opened the first half by returning the kick for a score, followed by touchdown runs of 68 and 6 yards for a 22-0 lead. In the second quarter Burnet was able to get on the scoreboard as QB Brynner Shackleford found a streaking Ryan Jackson for a 53 yard touchdown. Jackson added the two point conversion and Burnet trailed 22-8. The Panthers would find the endzone once more before the break from 42 yards out to make the score 30-8 at the half. After a Liberty Hill score early in the third quarter once again Shackleford went to work through the air connecting on a 19 yard hook up with Bulldog receiver Cooper Cook. A 45 yard run from the Panthers would end the scoring with Dogs behind 44-14. Leading the way offensively for Burnet were Shackleford, Jackson, Cook, and Zachary Warden. Tackles for a loss were recorded by Zach Ferguson and Zach Hudgins. The Bulldogs recovered two fumbles, the first by Gerardo Murillo and the second a strip and recovery by Eric Paye. Clayton McLaughlin recorded multiple tackles as well. The 7th grade Dogs will be traveling to Llano for their next game. Green Team @ 4:30 White Team @ 6:00
