#7x7Challenge, day five! Two days left! Im writing seven things Im thankful for, everyday for seven days! Missed a couple days - just didnt get online, pretty much for a couple days, but that let me enjoy the last of the Thanksgiving weekend! Today Im thankful for: 1. Four fantastic Thanksgiving parties in four days. Im tired, but in a very good way. :D One turkey, two casseroles, three chickens, a few pots of homemade gravy, and great times with great friends here in Kyrgyzstan! 2. Wifi in Bishkek. Ive been here long enough to remember the days when Alex and I simply dreamed of consistent, fast wi-fi here... and now its everywhere, even in the square! I guess this is something that I take for granted back at home, but its connected me with friends, family, and opportunities to take our work with the English club and leadership club to a whole other level! 3. Random: J.J. Abrams is directing Star Wars episode 7. I must say, it looks like were going in a very, very good direction now. :D 4. Speaking of movies, Im thankful for my parents sending me X-Men: Days of Future Past! 5. And (SPOILER ALERT) ... that X-3 has been effectively erased from the film history. And the Wolverine movies too, it seems! 6. On a serious note, Im thankful for a wife who enjoys life here with me. :D 7. And Im thankful for the person or team who designed AnkiDroid, the best Android app that you may have never heard of. Seriously... its the best and most practical language learning app that Ive ever used. This year, with AnkiDroids help, Ive learned about 3,400+ flashcards by heart - everything from Kyrgyz, Russian, TMS and other passages from the Bible (like all of Ephesians!), other useful quotes, and even keeping my Chinese and Japanese fresh!
