8-) Ran into someone who introduces himself as : I am Sensei so-n-so 8-) Well,anyway,he said to me : Why do u rave n rant about Sport Karate,which provides so many of us with bread-n-butter? To put it mildly,I Was taken aback!For,though I,for perhaps no worth,earnestly believe,that Sport Karate is a contradiction in terms,I do honestly know and fully appreciate the stark fact,that our beloved Art is today a global phenomenon,in large part because of Sport,Medals n Trophies..Also,none of us deny the clear fact,that to be a Sport Karateka,you need to be a fairly good athlete,besides having to invest much time,money n effort,before you start winning..n yet,whenever there is an incidence of violence n rape,governments,local bodies n schools go into a tizzy n unwittingly approach their National Sport Karate Orgs,who readily oblige by venturing to teach their Sport version..in the bargain,everyone is happy under the illusion,that they are learning self-defense,or much worse,an ancient,lethal art of unarmed combat,when nothing could be farther from the Budo-truth!n This illusion is dangerous. And as for rave n rant,well,I may have certain views,albeit strictly my own,but I do believe I take care to express them,always within the limits of normal decency n decorum..?..Oss...
