8/11/14: Today was a quiet, eventful day for Jack. When I sat - TopicsExpress

8/11/14: Today was a quiet, eventful day for Jack. When I sat with him this morning, I held his hand and he held mine. When I tried to move, he held on tight. The sedation had been lowered a bit so when I asked him a question, he was able to nod his head yes or no. But, he seemed scared - not knowing exactly what was going on! I was able to calm him by assuring him that he was doing better each day, but he still had a frightened look on his face. It broke my heart. Just knowing I was there by his side, though, helped and I think he felt safe. The good news was that the second blood pressure med was disconnected today. He was able to maintain his pressure on his own without the meds. He also had a line put in so that he can get some nutrition through his IV. That really makes me happy because he hasnt been able to eat since July 27th! He may not be able to taste it, but at least he is getting fed! Hopefully tomorrow will be even a better day for him. Now, if we could get that infection under control, we could start to see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! But, as I said yesterday . . . Baby Steps! God help him! He has been to hell and back. I dont care how long it takes just so long as I get my husband back home safe and sound!
