8/13/13 BIBLE PASSAGE: 8/13/13 BIBLE PASSAGE (Job 20,21) From Job: Zophar attempted to intellectually appeal to Job’s psyche with the hope that the depressed man would stop claiming innocence over his afflictions. Zophar asked Job, “Do you not know this of old, since man was placed on earth, that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment? Though his haughtiness mounts up to the heavens, and his head reaches to the clouds, yet he will perish forever like his own refuse; those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’” (Job 20:4-7). However, Job also responded as an intellectual man and he said, “Listen carefully to my speech, and let this be your consolation. Bear with me that I may speak, and after I have spoken, keep mocking. “As for me, is my complaint against man? And if it were, why should I not be impatient? Look at me and be astonished; Put your hand over your mouth. Even when I remember I am terrified, and trembling takes hold of my flesh. Why do the wicked live and become old, yes, become mighty in power?” (Job 21:2-7). Lesson: God is more intellectual than man. He has more knowledge than any human being, and he can prove us wrong within a minute. Therefore, we human beings should not attempt to equate ourselves with God. Even though we are created in the image of God, but we are nowhere to be compared with God. Instead of rubbing shoulders against God’s wisdom, we should humble ourselves and learn from him. We should not cease to beg God to endow us with wisdoms that are needed to make proper decisions in life. Prayer: Dear God, please help me to humble myself before you at all times. Do not let me compare myself with you, and do not let me assume your positions. Rather, help me to fear and obey you. Grant me wisdom to behave well and make proper decisions in life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen. The post 8/13/13 BIBLE PASSAGE appeared first on Trumpet Media and authored by James Taiwo. dlvr.it/3nqQZk
