8/1987 Mesa Boogie Mark III MK 3 Red Stripe Simul Class Long Head With more than a little hint of doubt, Im putting my Mark III head on the market. When I bought it, my “Boogie” friends told me that this would be the Boogie for me, and in many respects they were dead right. They argued that the cleans were nice and vintage, and the drive would be up my vintage alley. The cleans on this are a heady mix of Fender-ish sparkle, mixed with more than a dash of Marshall punch, and Hiwatt “kerrang”. The lead channel is very closely based on the famed MKIIC+ circuit, and really cooks. Im no metal guy, but with a hot Les Paul, this gets mighty chunky. Give the graphic the classic Metallica “V”, and it nails much of the Master of Puppets tones. In 20XXX range, serial number-wise, this amp has almost the “lot” - no reverb, but thats no biggie. Simul class, graphic, half-power switch, and cooling fan, and the coveted export version. Wired by Tina, who I think might have been a bit of a gun. Looks original. In great condition with little to show for its near 30 years on the planet. Heck - if you were the type, some vinyl restorer and a toothbrush would make this beauty bloody near mint, or at least doing bloody well for age. Happy to answer any questions. Will ship at buyers expense, but much prefer a local sale. Might take an interesting trade, but keep in mind Im not really a metal guy. Im pretty right amp-wise, but if you have something with a vintage flavour, I might be keen. Cash either way for the right piece. Im not really looking to trade down, so to speak, but trade across.
