8/22 THE DAILY FANTASY BASEBALL REPORT By Tony DeMarco * Nothing extends a winning streak more these days than playing the DBacks, who have the equivalent of a AAAA roster thanks to the unfortunate Paul Goldschmidt injury and the mismanagement of likely-to-be-replaced Kevin Towers. The Nats just ran off four in a row against the DBacks, and now have 10 consecutive victories, but it wont be so easy against a Giants team in need of Ws. Doug Fisters run is reaching too-good-to-continue territory, as he hasnt allowed an earned run in four of his last five starts (and only three unearned runs in his last 21.1 IP. ) Pablo Sandoval is 3-3, 2B against Fister, and a good play v. the sinkerballing right-hander. Against Giants SP Tim Hudson, Jayson Werth is 15-41, 4 2B, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 5 BB, while Bryce Harper is heating up. PICK: GIANTS * The Reds are sinking to irrelevance in the NL wildcard chase. Theyve dropped six in a row and 9 of 10, and their bullpen hasnt recovered from a Sunday DH in Colorado that featured Aroldis Chapmans legendary meltdown. Emergency starter David Holmberg was shelled by the Braves last night, and its Mat Latos turn tonight, which has the Reds favored against Mike Minor. But Braves hitters have had little problem with Latos: .425/.475/.644 in 73 ABs. Leading the way: Freddie Freeman: 7-12, 3 2B, 6 RBI, .833 slug % Hot Justin Upton: 6-14, 2 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 3 BB, .786 slug % Chris Johnson: 7-17, 3 2B, HR, 3 RBI, .765 slug % Jason Heyward: 4-10, 2 2B, 2 RBI Minor has gotten past a bad stretch, and in his last two since being skipped in the rotation, he has allowed 5 ER and 12 H in 13.2 IP with a 14:3 K:BB rate. He also has held Reds hitters to a .197/.300/.361 slash line in 61 ABs. Zack Cosart is a potential value play at 4-10, 3B, 2 HR, 2 RBI v. Minor. PICK: BRAVES * The DBacks have sunk to an NL-worst -101 run differential (only the Rangers at -135 are worse), and have lost six in a row. Yet theyre small favorites tonight at home behind Josh Collmenter v. Odrisamer Despaigne. Seth Smith is 5-14, 2B, 3B, HR v Collmenter, and is a good play in Chase Field. PICK: PADRES * Alert: Hot Giancarlo Stanton is facing a lefty (Franklin Morales) in Coors Field tonight. *Notable BvP Matchups David Wright v. Dan Haren: 7-21, 2 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, .714 slug % Andrew McCutchen v Yovani Gallardo: 15-49, 3 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 5 SB Pedro Alvarez v Gallardo: 2-29, 12 K Jonathan Lucroy v. Jeff Locke: 4-8, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 3 BB, 1.000 slug % Carlos Gomez v. Locke: 5-11, 2B, HR, 4 RBI Josh Willingham v. Colby Lewis: 7-22, 3 2B, 3 HR, 5 RBI, .864 slug % Torii Hunter v. Tommy Milone, 4-10, HR Mark Teixeira v. John Danks: 8-15, 2 2B, HR, 5 RBI Matt Adams v Kyle Kendrick: 5-11, 2 2B Jon Jay v. Kendrick: 6-15, 2 2B, 3B, 3 RBI * Brad Peacock is a play-against SP, and its the Indians turn tonight at Progressive Field. Peacock has an 8.79 ERA in three August starts, and has allowed 21 ER in 18 IP in his last four outings. The Astros have lost his last five starts, and six of seven, so you wonder why hes still in their rotation. Get Indians LHHs in your lineup, led by hot Carlos Santana and Michael Brantley. Indians SP Carlos Carrasco hasnt allowed a run in 12 IP in his last two starts, and has a 14:1 K:BB ratio in 16 IP over three starts. PICK: INDIANS * Heat Check: Hottest hitters last seven days David Ortiz: .538/.625/1.177, 4 HR in 26 AB Jon Jay: .579/.704/.631 in 19 AB Justin Upton: .417/.517/.834, 3 HR in 24 AB Victor Martinez: .350/.449/.651, HR in 20 AB Michael Morse: .615/.688/1.240, HR in 13 AB Carlos Gomez: .292/.393/.750, 3 HR in 24 AB Follow Tony DeMarco @ VegasProInsidersDaily https://draftkings/gateway?S=642893639
