8/29/13 Jesuit Varsity @ Granite Bay (scrimmage) – Pictures posted below this… What a great nigh of football, the boys did great and I just couldn’t wait to write up the play-by-play (or at least most of the plays) Granite Bay kicks off to Jesuit, the ball is caught by #19 with a 15 yard return; the ball is on Jesuits 30 yd line. QB #19 (Jason Elenberger) makes a 25 yd pass to #10 (Matthew Coyle) runs for an additional 5 yds. QB #19 to #25 (Ben Parietti) for 6 yd (2nd/4), unfortunately this was followed by an incomplete pass. But the following play is a game changer with a pass to #35 (Beau Bisharat) who takes control of the ball and run 6 yds (This sophomore has quite a future in front and him and we couldn’t be happier to have him on the varsity team!!) Jesuit is now 1st and Goal on the 5 yd line… #19 hands off to #25 for another 2 yds, just 3 more to go. Next pass is incomplete, this brings up 3rd and Goal on the 3 yd line. #19 hands the ball off to #36 (Denzel Perkins) who get another 2 yds. With just 1 yd left to go and 4th down, #19 throws the ball to #72 (Michael Titherington) for a BIG Jesuit TOUCHDOWN!!!!!! Jesuit 6 – GB 0 (No PAT for the scrimmage) Granite Bay with the ball, they go outside but quickly get tackled by #27 (Walker Durant). GB tries a long pass, but it’s blocked by #58 (Cole Willburn). GB runs up the middle and although they get a 1st down the runner is brought down by #58, one more time! GB tried the middle again, this time the runner is tackled by #14 (Isaiah Bailey). The next play GB throws to the back corner and gets a touchdown… Jesuit 6 - GB 6 GB kicks off to Jesuit, the ball is caught by #10 who runs the ball back for 15 yds. #13 (Cole Brownholtz) takes over as QB and throws to #41 (Kori Collons) for 10 yds. Unfortunately, Jesuit gets another offsides call and now it’s 1st and 15. #13 makes a 25 yd throw to #33 (Luke Bagley) however GB gets a pass interference call, and Jesuit get the ball on the 25 yd line. #13 passes to #27 for 5 yds. The next pass to #15 (Coby Thrasher) is incomplete, but GB gets called for a late hit and Jesuit gets a 1st down with the ball on the 20. Brownholtz with a 19 yd pass to #36 Perkins and once again Jesuit is 1st and Goal… With a handoff to #27 Durant, Jesuit has their 2nd TOUCHDOWN of the night!!! Jesuit 12 - GB 6 Jesuit is given the ball back (it’s a scrimmage, what can I say…) Brownholtz first pass for 50 yds, is incomplete. Next he tries a handoff to #36 Perkins for a short run, but no gain which brings up 3rd and 10. Brownholtz reaches deep and passes to #81 (Anthony Geremia) for a 14 yd gain and another 1st down! Brownholtz pass to #33 Bagley is incomplete, and is followed by a handoff to #36 Perkins for no gain, which brings up 3rd and 10. Jesuit switches up the line and punts to GB (again, it’s a scrimmage, what can I say, except this proved to work for Jesuit) Granite Bay bobbles the ball, then drops its…. #81 Geremia swoops up the ball and takes it in for another Jesuit TOUCHDOWN!!!! Jesuit 18 - GB 6 On Granite Bays next series, Jesuit had big tackles by #85 (Nick Pate), #33 Bagley, #44 (Austin Gates) and a fumble recovery by #64 (Chris Ruggles), however since it is a scrimmage Jesuit kickoff to Granite Bay and on the next series, despite some awesome tackles by #56 (Grayson Jones), #21 (Tyler Marshall), #25 Perietti and by #44 Gates, GB was still able to get 4 first downs, ending with another Touchdown… Jesuit 18 - GB 12 GB then gets the ball back (scrimmages, ugh) and with just 4 plays, they were able to get another Touchdown. Jesuit 18 - GB 18 But you know Jesuit had to answer that with a great series. #19 Elenberger takes over again as the QB with a 10 yd pass to #25 Parietti who runs another 10 yds. With 1st and 10, Elenberger hands off to Pariett and nets 0. On the next play GB gets an offside call and gives Jesuit 5 yds, making it now 2nd and 5. Elenberger steps out of the pocket and makes a big 25 yd pass to #10 Coyle, which makes it 1st and Goal. With a handoff to Parietti, Jesuit seals the deal with one last TOUCHDOWN!!! Making the final score Jesuit 24 to Granite Bay 18 Way to go Jesuit Marauders!!!
