8/3/14 We skipped the 10th verse yesterday, so I want to go back and get this nugget of truth also. *** Mark 4:10 The Purpose of Parables 10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them. *** Here Jesus explains the purpose of the parables he spoke. To those of us who are believers is given, by the Holy Spirit, the ability to know the things of the Kingdom of God. Once again, parables are earthly sayings with a Heavenly meaning. When Jesus spoke a parable He really was speaking the things of the Kingdom. In the verses following verse 10, He explains the parable of the sower; of which we looked at yesterday. By contrast, those who are perishing (are not believers in Jesus Christ) do not understand the things of the Kingdom of God although many of them claim to know God. Thats why the Word of God is foolishness to them, and they go on in their own foolish ways to perish (in Hell) unless they repent and believe. If you find Gods Word to be foolish to you, you are among that vast crowd who are traveling on that Wide way that leads to destruction. I urge you to immediately repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ before its everlastingly too late! If you are a believer, you and I need to get this message out to this lost and dying world somehow, and fulfill our great commission. May The Lord increase your faith and give you boldness today! Agape! LMC
