8:30am December 18, 2014 is the last day that the chair of the California Public Utility Commission CPUC will hold office. He has decided to resign due to protests and pressure because of his criminal collusion with PG&E, SCE and other utilities which he and the appointed CPUC board are supposed to regulate. They have allowed the utilities to get away with murder and fraud and retaliation against health and safety whistleblowers. They have covered up the dangerous nuclear plant problems at San Onofre and Diablo Canyon and criminal malfeasance that let to explosions at San Bruno and other locations throughout California. They have also allowed the installation of so called smart meters that have harmed and injured the people of California and forced the ratepayers to pay for these meters while laying off utility workers. Governor Brown who appoints these CPUC board members is also a shill for the utilities and has said that Peevey is doing a good job. The time is not to criminally prosecute Peevey and other members of the board who have illegally colluded with the utilities and other members of the management who have represented the interests of those utilities that they are supposed to regulate. We also support public/worker/community control of PG&E and SCE and an elected board at the CPUC. Any other nominees by Governor Brown will continue his corrupt record of doing damage control for Peevey and the utilities that they are supposed to regulate for the public and all working people in California.
