8:30am Solidarity and support for the protesters who were arrested at the foot of the #HartBridge tonight+ We want to be there for our comrades so that they KNOW we are here to support them and are doing everything we can to get them out ASAP! We fully intend to support them throughout the sometimes drawn out and difficult process of dealing with the injustice system. I really am upset over what happened to us tonight as the situation appeared to be de-escalating. I was shoved by a Fox 30 reporter and carried away by JSO officers but was not arrested, and I feel as though I should not have been able to walk away while others were hog tied and forced into police cruisers. It was only a minute after I was carried off from the demonstration that the police began arresting people. I have been talking about getting arrested recently but I made it clear that I was not willing to risk it today without bigger numbers and people who were committed to standing until the very end. I do not think many intended to get arrested but we did take precautions and went over the just-in-case strategies. Other than the unfortunate arrests, everyone did a great job tonight showing up, supporting this movement, and supporting those individuals who are leading the way by making sacrifices, and doing what many of us feel SHOULD be done.
