[8:50PM 11 JAN] Precipitation is beginning to advance into the area. The biggest problem that I see right now is that the ground is frozen in many places. Air temps are within a few degrees of freezing. So, some places--even where the temperatures are slightly above freezing--MAY have icy conditions. Temperatures will slowly begin to rise shortly after sunrise (7:26AM). Main roads should be wet, but side and secondary roads as well as bridges and overpasses, will be icy in spots. Sidewalks will be glazed likewise. By mid-morning or thereabout, conditions should improve considerably, and most areas should have rain with temps rising through the 30s. It will become quite foggy. Most of the problems with ice are likely to occur north of an I-66 (VA)--US 50 (MD)--MD 404--DEL 16 line.
