8/8/2014. Jay Shri Krishna. As Lord Krishna’s birthday falls in this month we are exploiting that chance to offer Him our wordly flowers. When Kansa came to know that Krishna and Balraam are safe and rearing in Gokul, he sends Akrur to invite the Nandaray, as a head of Gokul State, along with Krishna and Balraam under the pretext of witnessing the National Wrestling Competition. Krishna also wanted to have a chance to go to Mathura and relieve parents from prison. Krishna’s Mathura visit is full of intrigues and psychological war. When they reached Mathura it was dusk, Krishna wanted to see and influence the people of town. He arranges a sort of road show while entering the Mathura. The matter that we need take note of is, Gokul was a village and Mathura was a town. Krishna was visiting the town first time. The life style of people of Mathura and that of Gokul was different. The dresses that Krishna used to wear and the people of Mathura were wearing were quite different. Krishna at once could grasp this. While they were entering the town, the first person they countered was Kansa’s laundry man who was going to Palace to deliver the washed and pressed clothes. Krishna knew this, so He requested the laundry man to give Him some clothes so that he can wear them and look like urbane. But proud laundry man declines and tries to insult Krishna. Krishna kills Him instantly to wage a psychological war against Kansa that He can kill his laundry man and also to impress general public so that they can switch their loyalty to Him, and robs the laundry man of clothes which a tailor obliged to alter them to fit Krishna and Balraam. Then He meets Trivakra, populourly known as Kubjja, a fovourite maid of Kansa. He confides with her and gets from her necessary minute secret details of Kansa in exchange of a promise to be fulfilled later. Meanwhile almost entire population of Mathura joined the road show. Krishna meets them very amicably and exchanges views with them. By way of this road show Krishna made it certain that if He kills Kansa then people of Mathura will not fight from the Kansa’s side. . And when this news reached Kansa, he was virtually shivered. This is very strategically psychological war. And it so happened that when Krishna Killed Kansa, He had to engage in fight with nobody from the king’s side. This is great success. He frees father and mother and also frees Kansa’s father Ugrasen and hands over Mathura’s kingdom to Ugrasen. Not only this but when Krishna killed Jaraasangh through Bhimsen and freed 99 Kings captured by Jaraasangh, Krishna handed over their kingdoms to each one of them without eyeing for the wealth of them. This is nobility of Krishna. General rule is whoever kills the present king, takes over kingdom from him and becomes king. But Lord Krishna never had greed of kingdoms and there was a curse from King Yayaati also that Yadavs can never become King, so Ugrasen’s coronation was performed. One more thing needs mention here. When Krishna meets Kansa first time, Krishna bows to him as He is nephew of Kansa, and requests Kansa to give blessings to Him. But Kansa denies to give Him any such blessings which may help Him in war against him. But Krishna says that he can give one blessings that He will meet with a strange death, which Kansa obliges. We saw that Krishna met with very insignificant death. Very strange death indeed. There is another parable also, related to mode of Krishna’s death which seldom needs reference here. But He Himself opted for it. This saws that He never craved for publicity and was very humble common man. Then Krishna and Balraam goes to Guru Shandipani’s Ashram in Ujjayini, and studies there for 64 days and learns 64 arts in those 64 days. We shall know more about Krishna tomorrow. May God bless you.
