8 •• I was still standing there caught between going home and finding someone to talk to when a girl walked up to me. She was smiling and stood in front of me. Girl: Hi. Me: Uh...hey. Girl: Youre Thandos twin right? The music was loud so I couldnt really hear her. Me: What! Girl: ARE YOU THANDOS TWIN? She replied much louder this time. Me: Oh! Yeah. I am! Girl: Awumhle! I like your hair! She said that touching my hair and smiling. I didnt hear her I only heard hair so I figured she was talking about it and smiled. Girl: Lets go to my room! I signalled I couldnt hear her so she took my arm and we went upstairs to a room. She closed the door and the sound faded. Girl: Um... Sorry for just dragging you here hey. Im Thuli. Me: Oh its not a problem. Im Lisa. She went to sit on her bed and stared at me while I stood there awkwardly. Thuli: You can join me you know. She said patting the bed and I sat next to her. At first I was uncomfortable but she was cool and we ended up painting each others nails and talking about anything and everything. When I checked the time it was past nine and I had to leave. Thuli: No youre leaving already. Me: Yeah I really need to go. I dont know when my parents are getting back so when they get home I want them to find at least one of is there. She nodded and got up. Thuli: Ill walk with you. Just then a guy stormed in. Guy: Thuli theres som- He stopped mid sentence and glared at me. I wore my shoes avoiding his gaze. He had dark brown eyes was muscular and his hair was neatly combed. Thuli: Excuse you! How many times should I tell you to knock! Me: Uh... I should probably go. Thuli: Wait! Ill walk with you. She said pulling on her shoes. Guy: Where are you going at this time Thuliswa! Thuli: Im accompanying my friend Aviwe really take a chill pill. Me: Actually you know what? Ill just look for my brother and well walk home together. Its fine brah. Aviwe: I agree. Thuli rolled her eyes and pulled me. We walked past her brother and hurried down the stairs. He wasnt following us so we slowed down when we got to the gate. Me: Your brother doesnt seem to like me much. She took a while to respond. Thuli: Yeah well... I dont know. Hell come around. I nodded and we carried on walking. The street lights were on and there werent many people outside. Thuli: Damn but this neighbourhood is boring. Me: Duude! Thuli: Youre always at home though. So you wouldnt really know. Me: Haha true. Wait, let me call my brother. I took our my phone and punched in his numbers. Thuli looked irritated so I put my phone away. Me: Im sure hes fine. Um you can turn back now its okay. I smiled at her and she returned it. Thuli: Bye babe. We hugged and I ran to my house throwing myself on the couch and sighing out loud. Well at least something good came out of this chappy day. I made a new friend. I smiled thinking of how crazy she was. Cause as we were talking she was complaining of her ex boyfriend cause he bought her roses on their one year anniversary. She was like : Why would he buy me roses? Im black and thats white people stuff. He should have bought me airtime wethu. Haha this girl was crazy and I think I liked her. I wouldnt mind being her friend since we only live like a few houses apart. And then theres her brother. Ok the guy clearly doesnt like me. But why though? I mean it was my first time seeing him. I dont even know the guy and hes already being a :poop: head. I lifted My bum and took my phone out of my back pocket then tried calling Thando. The subscriber you have dialled - Ugh! Maybe hes enjoying himself. Im sure hell call when hes coming home I thought. My phone rang while I was holding it and I picked up. Me: Daddy! Dad: Thank God! Uphi Lisa! Me: Im at home, wh- Dad: Wheres your brother? Me: We went to a party and I left him there he isnt answering his phone so I do- Dad: You left him! eCareless kangaka ubhuti wakho!
