8 Methodist pastors will graduate from the Master of Divinity Degree program tomorrow, March 20, 2012 at the Bishop Han Theological Seminary in Malaybalay, Bukidnon. The Rev. Dr.Han, Sang Ho, the President of the Seminary and the senior Pastor of Jooan Methodist Church in Inchon, Korea will be leading the graduation ceremony. Bishop Leo A. Soriano, the resident Bishop of the Davao Episcopal Area of The United Methodist Church will be participating in the graduation exercises. Dr. Anselmo Lupdag, the Chairperson of the University Senate of the Philippine Central Conference of the United Methodist Church will also be in attendance to give the Certificate of Accreditation of the University Senate of the Master of Divinity offering of Bishop Theological Seminary, which has also been approved by the Coordinating Council as an institution related with the United Methodist Church the Philippines. The speaker during the Baccalaureate Service is the Rev. Dr. Pedro Torrio III, District Superintendent of the Northwest Philippines Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, while the Commencement Speaker is the Rev. Dr. Mariano Apilado, former president of Union Theological Seminary, Philippines. The first eight graduates of the Master of Divinity Degree of the Bishop Han Theological Seminary are: Josephine Monteza Abillar, Grace Baclangen Baoas, Rodel Mariano Hipolito, Marcelino BajalaJuayang, Richard Dalion Romero, Jezreel Saceda (cum laude), Jerson Bitag Sanggo and Joel Valor Sarmiento. These graduate comes from the Baguio Episcopal Area and the Davao Episcopal Area, so they will expected to be appointed in their own annual conferences. After graduation these eights graduates are invited to go to Korea for a week of exposure and rest and recreation after 3 years of serious studies. Dr.Johnson Mones one of the faculty will accompany the blessed graduates. Bishop Han Theological Seminary is sponsored and supported by the JOOAN METHODIST CHURCH in Incheon, South Korea. Bishop Han Theological Seminary envisions a theological institution that molds church workers to be mission-oriented, Biblically competent and to uphold the Wesleyan heritage. The seminary is committed to develop dedicated ministers, vested with the passion to preach, evangelize, and interpret the gospel of Jesus Christ, transform lives, plant and organize churches and demonstrate the passion of peace building for productive living, community and nation building. The present faculty of BHTS includes the following: Rev. Dr. Noel F. Guzman, Academic Dean; Rev. Lee, Chang Sun, Missionary; Prof. Son, Hye Jin, Church Music; Dr. Arnaldo L. Estrella, Registrar; Dr. Jonshon C. Mones, Biblical Studies, OT; Rev. Kevin O. Nebran, Pastoral Care and Counseling; Rev. Roland G. Annaguey, Theology/Religion and the Rev. Samuel Miguel, BHTS Director. Scholarship are granted to qualified students who met the admission requirements. prospective students are to file an application for scholarship to the Seminary Registrar upon enrollment. Priority shall be given to students of The United Methodist Church. Applicants from other denominations may apply for scholarship but they are encouraged to seek their own sponsor.
