8 November 1974: Paul Edward Armstrong, 18-year-old Catholic civilian, a seaman was from Ligoniel Road. His body was found in a derelict bakery at Byron Street in the Oldpark area. Mr Armstrong was beaten and then shot in the head 4 times. He was last seen 7 hours earlier as he was making his way toward the New Lodge area. The UIster Protestant Action group called the Belfast office of the Samaritans and claimed responsibility for Mr Armstrongs killing. The caller gave the location of the body and said that the killing was in retaliation for the blinding of an RUC man a week earlier. The caller also gave a warning that there would be more violence in the event there were other such incidents as that in Guildford, England. LEST WE FORGET!
