8 passengers saved from rough seas in Aroroy Port, Masbate PCG: Eight stranded passengers were saved by the Coast Guard from rough seas and inclement weather last Saturday, September 13 at the vicinity waters of Aroroy Port in Masbate. The Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Aroroy received the report from a concerned citizen informing that M/Bca Kim Denmark encountered engine trouble and went dead on water amidst strong winds, heavy rain and big waves, locally known assubasko. Apparently, eight passengers were onboard the distressed boat 500 yards from Aroroy Port. The Coast Guard Search and Rescue (SAR) Team immediately responded to the incident and saved the stranded passengers, namely: Vicente Fajardo (Boat Captain), Bernadeth Fajardo, Sharon Fajardo, Leonisa Banosong, Noel Banosong, Paulita Banosong, Carlita Banosong Andagosto Zurbito, all residents of Barangay Tigbao, Aroroy, Masbate. They were transferred to M/Bca Young Geu-1 while M/Bca Kim Denmark, owned by Ms. Erlinda Cantuba, was towed back to Aroroy Port.
