8 things to keep you in the know at Canton First: 1) Let go of the “red balloon” of fear and you will have faith even in the storm. Will you keep pounding on closed doors or let God show you the new door he has opened to you? Did you miss being with us? The video of the message will be available at cfnaz through the Canton First Facebook page by this Wednesday. 2) Alabaster offering is coming Sunday, September 21. All of this offering goes directly to the mission field to build churches and homes for world areas in great need! Alabaster offerings are available at the welcome center. This is a great offering to get the whole family involved as we are encouraged to give all of our spare change (but of course large bills are accepted as well ;-). 3) Every 55 and older is invited to our home on Tuesday, September 16 for a picnic lunch. This gathering is hosted by our Keenagers group. Sign up at the Welcome Center in the lobby. • 4) September 21, 3-6 PM, Kimberly and I invite anyone who is not yet a member to our home to explore what it means to be a member at CFNAZ. Even if you do not wish to become a member, we invite you to share a meal with us and to learn more about what we believe, the Refocus process and what we value as a church family. Contact me to register at chad@cfnaz, 330-492-5698 or make a note on your connection card and place it in the offering plate. 5) We are grateful for our Welcome Center servants: Alice Offineer, Chuck and Joanne Sprouse, Jan Gowen and Dave and Nancy Merryman. These folks are here to serve you and our guests each week. If you are looking for information about a ministry of CFNAZ, they will be happy to help. 6) Attention parents and grandparents! We have great news! Children’s Check in for Sunday School hour will begin on Sunday, September 7 and for Children’s Church hour on October 5. Please be sure to complete the Child Emergency and Information Form prior to these dates a you will not be able to check your child in until the form is completed. Thank you for your help in keeping our kids safe and helping us better minister to your child. 7) Help wanted: Are you looking for a way to serve Christ and make a difference for him in the lives of others? We have lots of opportunities. Here are just a few ideas or you to consider: Bus drivers—become a part of this rotation and you will enable folks who would not otherwise be able to attend worship to do so; Computer Operators—We are looking for people to run the computer for the Sunday worship service; Musicians—If you play an instrument we have a place for you to serve; Teen night worship leader—do you have the ability to lead music and do you love to see teens worship, then you are an answer to our prayer; Sound technician—Do you have an ear for music? We would love to train you to run the sound system; Preschool Sunday school teachers/helpers needed. Not see something that fits your gifts and passions? There are plenty of other opportunities. Make a note on your connection card or contact Pastor Chad. 8) Save the Date: • October 26, Child Dedication and Baptism Celebration! Want to know more about child dedication? Want to know more about baptism? Want to sign up? Contact me at chad@cfnaz, 330-492-5698 or make a note on your connection card and place it in the offering plate. Letting it Go with You, Chad
