8 year ago yesterday my Nephew Drew went to heaven, at the tender age of two. This is what I wrote for his memorial....Losing someone so small and so loved is never easy to accept, it seems as though the pain is almost to much to bare. We have to believe that our love for Andrew will outlast the pain. We all have a place deep within our hearts where treasured memories will always live. Try to picture this........Hundreds of Monarch butterflies take a detour and visit Drew today. I can almost see them now, fluttering in his direction, all brilliant flashes of orange and black, rushing to his side. The doors to heaven open just as they arrive, there he is sitting next to a deer, a little pony too. Around him cuddled is a bunny and a bear. I think we know how his little face would look ....amazed, surprised, enchanted. He would say oooh and form his tiny lips into a perfect circle. And then......he is lifted onto their wings and his spirit dances in the presence of so much beauty. Can you hear him laughing? Can You? His little chuckle, it echoes. He is in a better place now, chasing those butterflies, blowing kisses in the wind to all of us down here. Grow.... little flower, for you will forever be in bloom. Glow....little star tucked into the heavens. Know, little one that you will always be with us......forever.....held close in our hearts and so loved in our memories.
