800,000 NONESSENTIAL (the governments term, not mine) employees were furloughed... Nonessential that means their jobs are not an essential part of running the government.. With the average wage of a Federal employee being $78,500 a year (according to the Washington Post 4/9/13). That means we are spending $62,800,000,000 a year, of tax payer money, on jobs that are not required to keep the Federal Government running... And according to Nancy Pelosi "There is nothing left in the budget to cut"
