80s Flashback: We are visiting Christmas Week in 198, when Earth, Wind & Fires first release from from their studio album Raise! was at #3 in both The U. S. and Canada (its peak position) and the #1 R&B hit in The U. S.. n the late 70s and early 80s, disco music was undergoing a severe backlash. In spite of this, the band decided to revive the disco sound that was later included on their previous works and records. Musically, Lets Groove is a post-disco, pop and funk song which includes instrumentation of synthesizers and keyboards along with live electric guitars. It peaked at #1 on the U. S. R&B chart, at #3 on U. S. and British pop charts, and at #7 in Canada. Today, it is a staple song of early 80s R&B.
