82 year old grandfather choking, in cardiac arrest receives life saving CPR from 2 off duty Yonkers fire lieutenants and is resuscitated. Families attending Saturdays Ardsley High School Homecoming Football game were treated to real life drama when an 82 year old grandfather began choking, experiencing respitory distress and then going into cardiac arrest. Quickly, two off duty fire lieutenants, Lt. Mike Hanney and Lt. Tom Hewitt, rushed to the mans aid. The two first responders performed CPR, utilizing finger sweeps and abdominal thrusts to remove the choking matter and resuscitated the man. Once resuscitated, the man was taken to White Plains hospital for further evaluation where it was reported that he was alert and responsive. Job well done.
