838 Days Post Accident: TBT--I journal pretty consistently. Although this is not too long ago, I was browsing the journal from 2012. UGH! To remember that pain, thinking at times I would never walk again or even lose my leg. I had been in bed 4 months! PT had just started to teach me to walk again! If I wasnt in bed, I was in the wheelchair. I was not allowed to walk at home, PT didnt trust me not to fall. Unreal how far one can come and what the human body is capable of going through and then mending itself! I wrote how scared I was about my future and even jotted down the price of diesel then, $4.20/gal. I think I paid $3.89 today. I had apple pie and ice cream for dinner that night, said I had a pathetic, painful, depressing day and was in extreme pain by bedtime! Oh the wonders of time and healing! If each one of us could take a glimpse back in time, whether it be 2 years, 2 months, 2 days, or 2 minutes I think we would be fascinated at what we have done with our lives. If you could somehow capture every moment, every feeling, every smile, every tear and the knowledge you have obtained over time; everyone could right a book! there would be something to share with your kids, your family about who you are and it would be a document of how you handle lifes situations. The great and the not so great. I think you could find out more about your character, what are your strengths and your weaknesses? Most of our days fly by without us even taking in the sunshine, the simple smile from a friend or telling someone how much they mean to us. Your smile could just make someones day. Have you told someone you love them, people shouldnt just assume you love them, their is no emotion behind assumptions, just guesswork that can keep a mind spinning in the wrong direction. Life is too short not to talk about your greatest fears, the things that make you happiest and going after your dreams. If we love people, God can replace things, but if we love things excessively, we may lose people who cannot be replaced. Take in the moments no matter how small! Adversities will attack you everyday, its a choice on how we handle them. May you have the maturity, strength, faith, family and friends to see you through each of them, being able to look behind you years from now; sharing your story with someone else who will need your knowledge to take the first step in embracing their not so great day! We are all great teachers, each with a little bit of different wisdom that is able to feed the hungry mind, heart and soul. My greatest teacher; the good Lord above and the many brothers and sisters in Christ he has put along my path! :) Love and hugs to you all and thanks for continuing to follow me!
