85% of women in a committed relationship have a Plan B man ready. Hmm, at the very best that is a very loose definition of commitment. At worst it shows that anyone willing to trust a woman is likely to receive a whole lot of hurting. It also shows that the exceptions to that are very rare and to be treasured. However, things are not as bad as that statistic makes them appear, at least as far as marriage break-up is concerned. Dr. Farrah Gray is fear-mongering. She implies that men wishing to have a committed relationship with a woman run a 7:1 risk, as if they were playing Russian roulette with a revolver that has eight chambers of which seven are loaded. Reality is far less threatening. Marriage is a game of Russian roulette in which only every second chamber is loaded. Nevertheless, that is still not an acceptable risk. Although a marriage can be a great boon for all who partake of it and truly commit themselves to it for life, a 1:1 risk is *far* to great. Because one out of every two marriages ends in divorce, and because almost invariably the man is the loser, men should not get married.
