87 2.8 Camaro is running weak and has low gas mileage ~13-15mpg and its 0-60 was over 20 seconds... slightly downhill. When i got my car it was getting ~9mpg so then I replaced just about every sensor under the hood, spark plugs, plug wires, distrubuter cap and rotor, and vacuum lines awhile back as well as timing. Now i dont know what to check. My guesses is that the valves need adjustments. It is possible the transmission is mildly slipping but i dont notice it. I dont have enough evidence to confirm this so i dont want to pursue this yet. I only have noticed it slipping once in reverse but it was really cold outside. Now for The symptoms so maybe you guys can help me out. 1)The engine ticks pretty loudly. probably about 5-7 times in one second at a constant pace. it may be more like a clicking noise. (valve adjustments?) 2)when accelerating the passenger side of the car creaks, shakes, and moans. (I would guess its the engine mount) 3)stutters when first started up. Worse when cold. 4)have to floor it up mild hills to maintain speed. 5)car has ridiculously slow 0-60.
