Her markings are delicate and her eyes although a bit cloudy are working quite well for her. Diamond turns her back to the world in her adoption kennel. She is deep asleep when I come for her. She does not act grumpy when I tap on her shoulder and lets me carry her to the ground. Diamond trots beautifully and even does the stairs. After a much needed stop, we enter a pen where she can stretch her legs. She seems to like to be petted and even eats tiny pieces of roast beef. Although a good walker, her legs might be a little stiff as it takes her a bit of time to lay down by my feet. Diamond knows the difference between freedom, company and her den. She looks stubbornly at me, without a bark and tells me: there is no way I am going back in there.. I wish i could take you home, babe, but it is late and good little girls need to go to sleep. Tomorrow is another day… Diamond was returned on a comfy bed. As I left last night, she was sound asleep, head toward her door, dreaming, I know of the new owner or family who will see the gem in her, the love and company an older dog can still offer. Diamond who is already spayed, is waiting patiently for you at the Manhattan Care Center.
