#8845-These are my personal thoughts and I am not targetting any community or region.I recently joined Infy , and during my Mysore stint made friends with a group of guys from Andhra Pradesh.There is a lot of craze in India (particulary from southern state of Andhra Pradesh) to go to USA regardless of the technical skills and self interest. And all of these guys wanted to go to the USA at any cost , by hook or by crook.This is because of the peer/parental pressure from young age and also the craze for the guy who is employed in the USA, in the marriage market where they command the highest price. It is really a alarming and pathetic situation. Perhaps India is the only country in the world where we see this strange situation. Lot of my friends say their marriage prospects will be poor in the marriage market if they are not in the USA no matter what their financial/work situation is. It is just that they have to be a living human being in the USA on the H1B visa or a GC holder. I see so many posts on this page daily , where 22-23 year olds are getting frustrated in life just because this year they did not stand a chance for the H1B ! Cmon folks...USA is not every thing ! Maybe it is the Indian mentality about going to Amreeka or Vilayat so that they can then show off to their neighbours or relatives or command a fat dowry from a naive bride , take selfies in front of the Statue of liberty , Big Ben or Eiffel tower and make it as the Facebook DP. What is hilarious is that in every region/state in India , there is a fascination towards different destinations abroad , Like the Punjabis dream of migrating to Kanneda (Canada) or the UK , the Mallus of Kerala are attracted towards the Gulf countries ( esp. Dubai), the Gujjus want to go to east African nations ,The Tamilians want to go to Singapore/Malaysia and the Andhraites now want to make California the capital of Telengana ! But the day will come , when the Americans will queue in front of Indian embassies , for an Indian work permit !
