8TH July 2014, New Brunswick, New Jersy, USA. Brothers and Sisters, Hamjambo! It’s my believe that even after all that is going on in our Country, the good Lord of the Holy Heavens has allowed us to continue living, and given us the responsibility to take positive decisions that will make our lives and those of our future generations better! The Youth of Kenya constitute the largest proportion of our Country’s population, hence the power to make or break our Nation’s fabric lay solely on our hands. The power to make a better future for ourselves, our children, and the future generations is in our hands. It is always good to agree to disagree, in order to agree, for a better Kenya. But during the process, let us all disagree that innocent lives of women, children, the youth and our fathers who hold our communities fabric, should be lost in the process. We have lost innocent lives in Lamu and Tana River Counties, and tension is high across the Country. Businesses are suffering, and so are our people’s livelihoods. Whether we are CORD, or Jubilee, one fact that will remain forever is that we are all Kenyans. I want to take this opportunity to urge all the parties concerned, and more so His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee fraternity, to take wise decisions and responsibility for the interest of all Kenyans. I want to urge former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the CORD fraternity, to also take wise decisions and responsibility for the interest of all Kenyans. This is not a time of chest thumping and showing prowess and power from both parties, but a time to call on the most high and Almighty God, and to bring all Kenyans together for the interest of the Nation and those who will walk this path after us. May we all embrace a culture of tolerance, consultation and togetherness with the love of God. Let not positions of power, or the desire to have them, lead us into destruction of property, innocent lives and anarchy. It is very easy to bring anarchy, but very difficult to bring life to normalcy. On behalf of the Kenyan Youth population, I therefore urge President Kenyatta to provide leadership and unite the Country. May I also take this opportunity to ask all the Youth to be tolerant of each other and be the agents of peace across the Country. Specifically, I humbly request all County Youth Leaders to take personal and organizational initiative to ensure peace is maintained across the Country. As enshrined in our Constitution, let justice be our shield and defender. And let us allow the peace of God to reign in our Country. The power to make Kenya better is in our hands, let’s make it! Lets spread peace, and love, Amani, Amani, Amani Kenya ! May God bless you all. Sincerely, Didas Mzirai, President, National Youth Bunge Association
