8th Grade Boys Basketball Defeats Stockbridge Westerns 8th grade boys basketball team traveled to Stockbridge on Wednesdaynight and played an excellent basketball game. The Panthers once again found themselves in a dog fight in the first quarter before turning up the pressure and outscoring Stockbridge 17-4 in the second quarter. Western maintained the healthy lead and finished with a 48-28 victory over the Panthers of Stockbridge. Leading the path in the scoring column was Steele Fortress with 20, Cole Morse 9 and Evan Thomson with 7. Fortress pulled down 9 rebounds while Desmond Price grabbed 5 of his own. Thomson lead the defensive effort with 5 steals, Price had 4 and Ford Kennedy had 3 take aways. Landon Hiler was the conductor of the team and dished out 4 assist. All in all it was a huge team effort and every player made big impacts through out the game. ” I am very proud of how the team responded during tough situations tonight.
