8th September, 1994-- Prayers by well-wishers for my safety before Maa Vaishno Devi 8th September, 1994 has been the one of the important day in the history of struggle by non-faculty staff of PGI. On 31st August, 1994, the front-line leaders and active workers were arrested by Chandigarh Police on the behest of DPGI in complete violation of the settlement arrived at on 19th June, 1994 the residence of Sh. Pawan Kumar Bansal, the then M.P. The Joint Action Committee launched a Jail Bharo Andolan from 1st September, 1994. More than 1200 workers court arrested by 7th September, 1994 including Medical Technologists. The Honble High Court issued notices against me on the basis of few CDs / Videos of my speeches provided by DPGI. I argued the matter in person while Counsels of JAC were also present. Honble High Court stayed all cases of suspensions, charge sheets, FIRs and ordered the release of more than 1200 workers, who were released by 1 am. Honble High Court appointed Sh. R.N. Agarwal, Cheif Justice (Retd.) of Delhi High Court to hold the arbitration proceedings between JAC and PGI Administration, who submitted his report in favour of employees on 15.2.1995. Though, it was a pre-condition set by Honble High Court that the report by Justice Agarwal will be binding but the then DPGI refused to implement it. The struggle continued. One of my friend and well wisher at PGI, prayed for my safety before Maa Vaishno Devi on 7th September, 1994 and offered to take me to Maa Vaishno Devi. After few days, both families visited Maa Vaishno Devi Temple at Katra.
