8th pre-art competition for young composers: call is open! In partnership with the Kedveš-Foundation, In collaboration with the Convergence New Music Ensemble Age limit: 30 (born 1984 or later) Deadline: 15th February 2014 The competition is open to composers from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgistan, Kosova, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Open call for an ensemble composition written for a choice of no fewer than 9 of the following instruments: flute (also piccolo), oboe (also cor anglais), clarinet (also bass clarinet), bassoon, trumpet, french horn, trombone, 2 violins, viola, cello, double bass (4-strings), piano. One or two instruments are supposed to be treated as „solo instruments“ within the musical context. The piece will be conducted. Duration of the composition: 8 to 12 minutes The composition must not have been performed in any form. Every participant is allowed to apply with one composition only. Former first-prize-winners of the pre-art competition are excluded.
