9,000 RTC buses to be off the roads...... HYDERABAD: Nearly 9,000 buses of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will be off the roads from Friday midnight across Telangana region with the Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) and Telangana Employees Union (EU) of APSRTC deciding to respond to the bandh call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) on Thursday. TMU general secretary Ashwathram Reddy said that nearly 58,000 workers will abstain from duties in support of the bandh. Commuters dependent on inter-district and city buses will be the worst hit by the protest. Most autos, too, are expected to stay off the roads, though they did not announce their support to the bandh.tnnTOI
