9/19/14 MS/HS ANNOUCEMENTS: Attention Juniors & Seniors: On Saturday, September 27th BGSU Firelands will be hosting a career and campus visitation day. This day is designed for high school students that are making career decisions in the next two years. This half day experience will explore many college majors. Space is limited, if you are interested register at: firelands.bgus.edu/admissions/visitation.html For more information, see Mrs. Lott in the Guidance Office. Any Sophomore of Junior student that is interested in taking the PSAT (Preliminary SAT) / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test can sign up to do so in the guidance office. The test will be given on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 starting at 8:00 a.m. in the computer lab. There is a $14 fee for student’s to take this test. The fee must be paid prior to the day of testing and is non refundable. Update on the powder puff football game. Due to low sign ups by the junior class the game is now open to freshmen and sophomores. Juniors and seniors will be on a team playing against the sophomores and freshmen. Please sign up as soon as possible in the main office. Cost to get in is $1.00. The game is Wed. Oct. 1st at 6:30 p.m. with the bonfire to follow. ATTENTION YEARBOOK STAFF: We will meet Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. See Mrs. Weller if you have any questions. Any high school student interested in trying out for Academic Challenge should sign up in the main office by TODAY. Please see Mrs. Roan if you have any questions. On Thursday, October 2nd the 8th graders will be visiting EHOVE Career Center. Students will need to have their permission slip returned by September 30th. They will leave at 8:00 a.m. and return at approximately 11:00 a.m. If you have any questions, you can contact Mrs. Cook in the Guidance Office at 684-5351. NHS candidates: Your activity form and letter of reference are due to Mrs. Bonnigson today, September 19. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bonnigson. It’s the Official 100th Anniversary. The Student Government is selling Margaretta Spirit t-shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants. All orders are due with payment by today, September 19th for delivery for Spirit Week. Order forms are located in the AD Office, lobby and main office. Pre-sale tickets are available in the Athletic Office for this Friday’s football game against Clyde. All tickets are $5.00. The Margaretta dance team will be selling Homecoming t-shirts for a fundraiser. Order forms can be found in the main office, lobby, athletic office, library and in Mrs. Drossman’s room 123. Orders may be placed through Wednesday, September 24. Please see Mrs. Drossman for any additional information or questions. Sept. 26 thru Nov. 1 - Everyone who comes to Lake Eerie Fear Fest at Ghostly Manor in Sandusky with a coupon, gets $5.00 OFF admission and $5 towards their school/school organization. Attention All High School Students: Additional 2013-2014 yearbooks are available for purchase. The cost is $55.00. See Mrs. Weller if you are interested. Students who are driving to school need a parking pass. Please stop down to the Athletic Office and pick up the necessary paperwork. Everyone should have one by today. Attention: High School and Middle School Students: 2013-2014 yearbooks have arrived! Please see Mrs. Weller before or after school if you ordered a copy. SENIORS: Attention Seniors: The representative from Jostens will be here during lunch times today, September 19th. He will be taking orders for graduation announcements, caps and gowns. There are order packages in the guidance office for any student that missed Monday’s senior meeting. If you are a Post Secondary Option student please feel free to see Mrs. Lott for a package. If you can not meet with the Josten representative on Friday orders can be left in the guidance office. Attention SENIORS that still need to take the ACT: The registration deadline for the October 25th test is September 19th. Register at actstudent.org (actstudent.org/) If you have any questions see Mrs. Lott or Mrs. Cullen. Seniors are invited to a meeting on September 24th during 11th period in the high school cafeteria to discuss info on college applications, scholarship applications, financial aid, scholarship scams, recommendation letters and much more. Students can sign up in the Guidance Office to attend the meeting. Parents are welcome to attend also. EHOVE students that have signed up to attend will be released at 1:15 to ensure that they have ample drive time to attend the meeting.
