9/25 at 2:29am An officer reported while he was out checking on a disabled vehicle on SR 2 he was almost struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The vehicle was observed exited onto Lost Nation Rd at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle did not stop until he turned onto Cardinal Ct in Eastlake. The driver then fled the vehicle on foot and ran into the backyards. After a short foot pursuit a 28 year old Willowick resident was taken into custody for fleeing and eluding, failure to move over for a public safety vehicle and OVI. A glass pipe containing burn marijuana was seized as evidence from the vehicle. He posted $414 cash bond 8 hours later and was released with a court date.
