9/4/14 Mark 9:13-16 Jesus Blesses Little Children 13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them. *** God loves little children. They are near and dear to Gods heart. When the disciples scolded the people for bringing their children to Jesus, it greatly displeased The Lord. The disciples thought that Jesus was too important or too busy to be bothered by little children, but the opposite is true of our Lord God! Bring your children to Jesus Christ by taking them to church, by reading the bible with them, by praying with and for them. We would have less crime, fewer incidents in schools, etc if more parents were to practice this. Then Jesus Christ drills down on the subject by declaring that the Kingdom of Heaven is of such who have childlike hearts. In fact He states that, without it, you will not enter the Kingdom! Jesus is not talking about being immature and silly as children, but Hes talking about the innocence and trust of a little child as they rely totally upon their parents for everything. We are to trust in, rely upon and believe in Jesus Christ, simply and earnestly, as a child does their parent guardians! It might be challenging for some to accept this truth but think about the alternative!! Agape! LMC
