9/5/14: Friday – EHRC – 16221 Bear Bayou Dr. Channelview, Texas 77530 WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Marketing experts buy television airtime to lure you. They appeal to your senses and your emotions. They attempt to convince you that if you purchase their product, your life will be improved. You’ll look and feel like a million bucks (that is, until the bill arrives!). It’s okay for companies to sell legitimate products in appealing ways. But unfortunately, many consumers overspend on impulse, buying products they don’t need or can’t afford. The results are depleted bank accounts, credit card debt, and in extreme cases, bankruptcy. God desires us to be controlled by the Spirit, rather than the sinful nature. Romans 8:6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace NIV. He wants us to live lives of peace and joy rather than turmoil and despair. He knows that those who allow their own impulses and desires to control them are headed for trouble. As you consider your own ways today, submit yourself to the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to direct your dreams and desires. Invite Him into the driver’s seat of your finances, relationships, and important opportunities. And enjoy the peace he provides.
