The middle school boys and girls cross country team hosted the Hatchet Invitational last night. Out of 8 teams the girls placed 5th. There were a total of 128 runners Aubrey Anderson placed 6th, Megan Marcks 24th, Morgan Lund 28th, Ashley Klopatek 47th, Kaylie Svacina 59th, Kersten Zehner 85th, Lucy Winger 90th, Richelle Swan 96th and Morgan Ernst 119th. The boy’s placed 8th out of 8 teams. A total of 130 runners, Ty Gerstenberger placed 41st, Evan Ploeckelman 65th, Jared Leverance 68th, Anthony Ierulli 76th, Jack Lacina 114th, Jimmy Lee 116th, and Hayden Webster 125. 8th grade volleyball split its season opener with Rhinelander at home 3-3. In the B match scores were as follows: 16-25, 25-22, and 25-21. The A match scores were 18-25, 25-22, and 19-25. Elena Wallenfang had 6 serving aces Madi Ungerer 2 kills and 1 ace Courtney Theiler led the team with 8 kills, and 8 digs on the night Jordyn Kaminski had 3 serving aces Sophie Wegner had 2 kills Danaca Shore had 2 kills Grace Latzig 1 kill and 6 digs Danielle Kurth had 4 serving aces in the B match Rebecca Erickson had 6 serving aces Michaela Hess had 4 kills Madyson Ehn had 2 aces and 2 digs Overall strong season opener and great warm up for challenging matches next week. The 7th grade volleyball team hosted the Rhinelander Hodags in the field house for their season opener. They split 3-3 with the Hodags. Coaches Rezny and Norman saw many good things. especially attempts to set up 3 hits. Leading the way with service aces was Taylor Schilts followed by Abby Norman, Ailie Stichman, Whitney Osero and Kelly Martin. Great job ladies! Today’s lunch menu is: crispy fish wrap, cilantro lime slaw, broccoli, garbanzo bean salad, green peppers, apple, pineapple tidbits. The pizza special is stuffed crust, and the diner special is chicken club. The grab and go for today is a turkey BLT salad. Other selections include cheese and pepperoni pizza and a hamburger or cheeseburger.
