9.8.13. Major League Baseball Red Sox @ Royals Tip: Royals @ 2.09 An interesting match-up today at Kansas City. Today we should see where the rubber meets the road; current form vs. past history. As far as making odds on today’s game, we have the classic current form against a pitcher’s success against the other team. Bruce Chen has been outstanding as of late, giving up 4 runs in his last 4 starts. He only has one victory however, because the Royals haven’t been able to produce any runs for him. The Red Sox have also handled him without too much trouble. On the other hand Lester was rocked by the Dbacks in his last start, but he has been sensational against the Royals. Obviously where this game is being played has a lot to do with this selection, along with the price. Previous success against a team does not necessarily indicate future success. There are just too many factors that can influence the result. That being said, we always slightly favour current form over past history when we are making odds. Tip: Royals @ 2.09
