#9... ~John Carpenters The Thing Theme (1982)~ Who would of thought that a few notes being played over and over could be so epic. Ennio Morricone composed a simple yet very on edge score within the movie The Thing. The movie itself, is an iconic monster movie of the 80s and it still holds up well today. This violent and gory movie showed that even its music can be eerie. The first scene in the movie where the dog is being chased by a Norwegian Helicopter because the dog is now a host for this monster, it plays the theme of this movie. The theme blends perfect with the whole movie because it gives a sense of dread and isolation, and for a few guys trying to survive in an isolated area in the Antarctic... Its perfect. Watching this movie for the first time, the music was one of the things I remember the most... Who would of thought that simplicity can make such a big impact. https://youtube/watch?v=meU2gAU7Xss
