90 Days of Blessing - DAY 45 (7/5/13) Meditate on the Word: Read Luke 8. Pray the Blessing: Luke 8:15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. Hebrews 6:10-12 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Ask for the Nations: Pray for the 203 unreached people groups (more than 325 million people) of the Bengali cluster. Islam arrived in this region in 1206 with the conquest of Bengal by Turkish forces from Central Asia. As subsequent waves of Persian, Afghan and finally Moghul invaders extended the conquest of Bengal, Pirs (Muslim mystic holy men) went into the countryside and villages and preached a mystified form of Islam. Today Bengalis follow a syncretistic form of Islam mixed with Hinduism, animistic and Islamic practices. Pray for effective, heart-felt discipleship of believers and that they would be fruitful in sharing the good news with many others. Declare your faith: I will obey Your command to heal the sick today and will pray for those I encounter who are ill, trusting You as Healer. As I anoint with oil and pray a prayer offered in faith, I ask You to restore them to health. Thank You for showing Yourself strong on my behalf. (Luke 10:9; James 5:14-15; 2 Chronicles 16:9) Pray on foot: Visit a hospital or nursing home today and pray for the sick to be healed. Pray for the staff for wisdom and guidance and for a genuine heart of compassion for those they serve.
