90 Days of Blessing - DAY 57 (7/17/13) Meditate on the Word: Read Luke 20. Pray the Blessing: Luke 20:25 He said to them, “Then give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. Ask for the Nations: Pray for the more than 8 million unreached Sunni Islamic Trukhmeny Turkmen of Central Asia. The majority of Turkmen live in Turkmenistan, which is located in south Central Asia along the Caspian Sea. Many others live in the surrounding Asian nations of Kazakhstan, Iran, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan. Their culture has been strongly influenced in the past by both the Turkic conquerors, who imposed their language on them, and the Arabs, who forced them to convert to Islam. Long ago, they developed a strong ethnic identity as "children of the desert" because they would plunder rich caravans of Persian traders. In the 17th century, the Turkmen, or Trukhmens as they were called in Russia, migrated into the Caucasus. Turkmen use Russian as their literary language. There is little awareness of Christianity among the Turkmen, and few believers. Christian churches have been closed, and members told they cannot meet. Believers face scrutiny from the government. Hostility to evangelistic activities has increased since 1997. Pray that God raises up many laborers who can boldly witness among the Turkhmeny Turkmen without fear for their lives. Declare your faith: I am a steward in my Master’s household and He is my Provider. Today I will be a wise manager of the time, talents, resources, and relationships He has given me. I will be generous as He is generous with me. Whatever I do today, I will do with my might for His glory. (Ecclesiastes 9:10; Luke 12:32; Philippians 4:19) Pray on foot: Visit a government office dealing with taxes today. Pray for those who work there to experience the kind of visitation that Matthew, the tax collector, did from Jesus and that they would put their faith and trust in Him as well. Pray for believers to learn wise stewardship of all God has entrusted to them, knowing what is God’s and what belongs to Caesar.
