90) সূরা আল বালাদ (মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ), আয়াত সংখ্যা 20 بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু। Ayahs: | 1-20 | لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ (1 আমি এই নগরীর শপথ করি I swear by this city (Makkah); وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ (2 এবং এই নগরীতে আপনার উপর কোন প্রতিবন্ধকতা নেই। And you are free (from sin, to punish the enemies of Islâm on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah) , وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ (3 শপথ জনকের ও যা জন্ম দেয়। And by the begetter (i.e. Adam ) and that which he begot (i.e. his progeny); لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ (4 নিশ্চয় আমি মানুষকে শ্রমনির্ভররূপে সৃষ্টি করেছি। Verily, We have created man in toil. أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ (5 সে কি মনে করে যে, তার উপর কেউ ক্ষমতাবান হবে না ? Thinks he that none can overcome him? يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا (6 সে বলেঃ আমি প্রচুর ধন-সম্পদ ব্যয় করেছি। He says (boastfully): ”I have wasted wealth in abundance!” أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ (7 সে কি মনে করে যে, তাকে কেউ দেখেনি? Thinks he that none sees him? أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ (8 আমি কি তাকে দেইনি চক্ষুদ্বয়, Have We not made for him a pair of eyes? وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ (9 জিহবা ও ওষ্ঠদ্বয় ? And a tongue and a pair of lips? وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ (10 বস্তুতঃ আমি তাকে দু’টি পথ প্রদর্শন করেছি। And shown him the two ways (good and evil)? فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ (11 অতঃপর সে ধর্মের ঘাঁটিতে প্রবেশ করেনি। But he has made no effort to pass on the path that is steep. وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ (12 আপনি জানেন, সে ঘাঁটি কি? And what will make you know the path that is steep? فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ (13 তা হচ্ছে দাসমুক্তি (It is) Freeing a neck (slave, etc.) أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ (14 অথবা দুর্ভিক্ষের দিনে অন্নদান। Or giving food in a day of hunger (famine), يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ (15 এতীম আত্বীয়কে To an orphan near of kin. أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ (16 অথবা ধুলি-ধুসরিত মিসকীনকে Or to a Miskîn (poor) afflicted with misery. ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ (17 অতঃপর তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হওয়া, যারা ঈমান আনে এবং পরস্পরকে উপদেশ দেয় সবরের ও উপদেশ দেয় দয়ার। Then he became one of those who believed, and recommended one another to perseverance and patience, and (also) recommended one another to pity and compassion. أُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ (18 তারাই সৌভাগ্যশালী। They are those on the Right Hand (the dwellers of Paradise), وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ (19 আর যারা আমার আয়াতসমূহ অস্বীকার করে তারাই হতভাগা। But those who disbelieved in Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they are those on the Left Hand (the dwellers of Hell). عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ (20 তারা অগ্নিপরিবেষ্টিত অবস্থায় বন্দী থাকবে। The Fire will be shut over them (i.e. they will be enveloped by the Fire without any opening or window or outlet.
