911 personnel are so much more than just radio dispatchers. They are almost alway the very FIRST responder who has very little time to get the info, determine what kind of response is needed all the while trying to keep the caller on the line calm and information flowing. A critical part of the response team they are subject to many of the same psychological pressure and many of the same elements that are known to contribute to ptsd. Under paid, over worked and sometimes overwhelmed by the situation it is a very misunderstood and unappreciated job. I will alway be grateful for the many times my life was saved by that voice behind mic. Thank you isnt near enough to repay the debt.
