9th AUG – FRIDAY – London to Edinburgh. A restful morning preparing and packing for Scotland. Met Simone at Kings X and travelled 4.5hrs hours on the train northbound arriving almost at midnight. Lovely night so walked the short distance to our hotel; Carin. A little surprised by the size of the room . . . refer to photo!! 10th AUG – SATURDAY – Edinburgh. Simone insisted on a little sleep-in so I had to be quiet! Coffee and then we joined a walking tour at 11am, which covered 2.5hrs of very interesting historical sites, facts and stories. So much information shared we should have taken a dictaphone. Chris, our guide was actually a historian from Australia with Scottish blood. Quite a number of photos taken on the way showing the beautiful architecture and sites of Edinburgh. After lunch (in a Scottish pub) we continued our own private sightseeing tour. We ended the day in an authentic Italian restaurant eating pasta and pizza and drinking a bottle of PG from Italy! Now reclining in our majestic room. Night All. xxx
