A 101st Thunderbird (T-Bird) B model gun ship. Had to land on blade boxes with mattresses on them after landing skids were ripped off by a hot dog fixed wing transition pilot. Skid shoe caught on PSP and tore off the left skid and aft cross tube. The aircraft had to hover while maintenance took off the forward cross tube and right skid. Then flew around to burn off fuel while maintenance set up the blade boxes for them to land on. CWO Don Begay was the AC, not the one flying when the skids were ripped off. Maybe thats where the Harrier pilot learned how to land without a nose gear!
