A 15-year-old boy has been arrested overnight for driving offences in an alleged stolen car. At about 3.20am, a police patrol heading south on Lady Gowrie Drive at North Haven spotted a Toyota Corolla sedan travelling in the opposite direction at speed. The patrol did a u-turn to follow the vehicle. Seconds later the driver lost control at the junction of Lady Gowrie Drive and Lady Ruthven Drive and collided with fence posts. The driver was not injured and ran off. Police patrols surrounded the area and searched with the assistance of Police Dog Oscar, who quickly located the suspect. Inquiries are continuing to identify the owner of the vehicle, which police suspect is stolen. A pair of scissors was found in the ignition. The 15-year-old Welland boy was arrested and charged with drive in a manner dangerous, drive unlicensed and illegal use. He will face the Port Adelaide Youth Court today.
