A 2 week forecast for my Irish followers! Posted on July 31, 2013 Good Evening, Now I must say, Ireland is somewhat left out of forecasts sometimes, so heres my forecast for Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland for the next 2 weeks, and it’s a mixed picture. First, lets start with the models, now the GFS model (with ghood agreement from others) is certainly looking to the hot side for England but as for Ireland it’s a cooler story but still warm. For the first week, from 31st-6th, it looks as if high pressure will kick in from the East but not fully reach Irish Land, so temperatures hitting 21/22 degrees Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday at a maximum. Rain will be a lot more in the forecast for you as you are closer to the low pressure but with ideal conditions these could be storms. All models do tend to agree on this idea and it has been quite a good indicator of what’s to come so confidence is high for the next week, there is sign that things may become warmer again for next week and then cooling somewhat by Thursday, with more wet weather possible-for Ireland. SO…here’s my view on whats to come for you, Ireland. -In the first week i do believe it will hit 21/22 at a maximum for you, with the further East of the Irish mainland being warmer and drier. The cooling trend will start from Sunday but by Tuesday warmer conditions will intrude for you a little more, but not by much. There is definite potential for you to see thunderstorms widely across Ireland when the warmest bursts occur. I do believe that you will see a lot more rain than England, due to positioning of low pressure just west of you. -From the 7th-13th, there is agreement that higher pressure will reform but the barrier may well break to allow wetter conditions back in from the West. Although, you will have plenty of sunny spells in between times and the temperatures will reach low 20′s across the period. So there you have it, for all my Irish followers, there is your forecast and i hope you enjoy the warmer weather before the possibility of turning a tad damper!
