A 23 year old white male occasionally spontaneously develops a yellowish hue to both his skin and his sclera. The jaundice spontaneously goes away as well. His annual physical is approaching, and is concerned about his weight, so he fasts for two days prior to his exam. On the day of his physical, he has mild jaundice.
