A 25-hour solemn vigil will remember the 25 Connecticut men, who were either captured and never released or went missing and were never recovered. The vigil on May 17 at Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary Post 1592, will start at 1 PM and end at 3 PM May 18. The post is located at 112 Derby Ave. The vigil is intended to pay respects to the men and their families and to remind the the government that there should be a 100 percent accounting of the missing. MIAs from southwest Connecticut include: Stuart Andrew Merrill (USAF), of Stamford. William Nickerson, (USN), of Stamford. Alfonz Alonze Bankowski, (USAF), of Stamford. Charles David Austin (USAF) of New Canaan. Gerald Wayne McKinnley, (USN), of Danbury. David Ives Mixter, (USA), of Darien. Michael Albert Prevost, (USMC), of Norwalk.
